Esonica Veira

Esonica Veira is a unique, charismatic, intelligent, talented and most importantly determined young lady. Once she sets a goal for herself, she does not allow anything to prevent her Virgin Islands. She is a 2007 graduate of the Charlotte Amalie High School. Esonica also attended Alabama State University and studied performing arts!

Esonica has been a top model in St. Thomas since nine years of age, beginning with the Roses and Champagne Agency. She has participated in many other fashion events including the Face of Shabeau in Barbados, winning the coveted cover model spot, and the Caribbean Fashion Week Catwalk held annually in the Virgin Islands.

Esonica’s love for pageantry is evident and her list of success on the local and international level includes winning the titles of Ms Hal Jackson’s Virgin Islands Talented Teen 2005, Ms Hal Jackson’s International Talented Teen 2005, Ms America’s Outstanding Teen Talent Winner 2006 and Virgin Islands Carnival Queen 2007. She was also a finalist in the singing competition, V.I. Idol in 2008. Another achievement was participating and being awarded 1st Runner up in the 2010 Ms Virgin Islands Universe Pageant in 2010, and also winning the categories of Best Swimwear and Best Evening Gown. Not being deterred, Esonica once again competed in 2011 for the title of Miss Virgin Islands Universe and was again a Runner Up. However, this time the top finishers were given the opportunity to represent the Virgin Islands on the International level, and she was selected as the Miss World Virgin Islands and represented the US Virgin Islands at the Miss World Pageant which was held in London in November. Esonica did an excellent job and made the semi-finals or finals in most of the preliminary competitions, and finished in the semi-finals, 11th place overall from a field of 113 contestants, and 2nd overall in the Talent Finals.

Not missing an opportunity to showcase her love for fashion, Esonica was one of the selected models who participated in the 2011 Virgin Islands Summer Sizzle Fashion Event. Another achievement by this talented young lady was her selection as one of “The 50 Most Beautiful Women in the World” by a panel of judges for Global Beauties and was ranked #32 in the final tally. A panel of international judges made their selection based on the top international pageants held worldwide in 2011.

Esonica was crowned Miss US Paradise Supranational in May, 2013 and represented the US Virgin Islands in the Miss Supranational Pageant which was held in Minsk Belarus. Esonica spent three weeks in Belarus, where she participated in all of the preliminary competitions. Esonica was awarded 2nd Runner up in the Talent Finals and on the night of the Grand Finale on September 6th, she placed in the Top Five and was awarded 4th Runner up, thereby becoming the first Representative from the US Virgin Islands to place in the Top 5 of an international pageant.

She was also selected as the face and lead model of the 2013 Virgin Islands Fashion Week. This made her the first person from the Virgin Islands to have the honor of holding that prestigious position. As a result of her excellent performance at the Miss Supranational Pageant, Esonica has been selected to represent the US Virgin Islands at the 2014 Miss Earth Pageant. She received the best talent award and best teacher award at Miss Earth 2014. Finally Esonica accomplished her ultimate goal in becoming Miss US VIRGIN ISLANDS UNIVERSE and competed in the Miss Universe pageant in November 2017 which was held in Las Vegas and aired on FOX hosted by Steve Harvey.

Esonica received a great amount of media attention, interviews on Fox New Las Vegas and being mention in USA TODAY for being a top 20 contender and recognition for an outstanding national costume!

Esonica is very interested in promoting self esteem in young ladies and views pageantry, fashion and performing arts as avenues for building self confidence and assisting in one’s overall development. This young lady has proven her determination to excel at all levels and is constantly inspired by three words throughout her journey, “NEVER ACCEPT ORDINARY”.

Esonica has already graced the cover of LAS VEGAS WEEKLY MAGAZINE, shot a commercial for one of Las Vegas’s biggest attractions THE LINQ, walked the runway for International Beauty Show & Fashion Week Las Vegas and was a lead model in one of the biggest makeup brands in the USA titled Urban Decay. Esonica Veira also starred in the popular USA Network reality TV series Temptation Island Season 2 which has over 16 million viewers.
